Gao Yifei, born in 1965 in Taojiang County, Hunan Province, obtained his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law. He was formerly a professor, doctoral supervisor, and postdoctoral supervisor at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, transferred to work at the Law School of Guangxi University in September 2020. He is currently a second level professor and doctoral supervisor at Guangxi University. He participated in the drafting and argumentation of two legislative documents and six judicial documents of the highest judicial authorities. He published a total of 27 monographs, including Research on the Relationship between Media and Justice and Juridical Law of the Jury. His nearly 400 papers were published in journals such as Legal Studies, Journalism and Communication Studies, Youth Studies, and Chinese and Foreign Law. He hosted 18 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including 4 projects funded by the National Social Science Fund (1 key project), and received 9 scientific research awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level. He supervised 18 doctoral students, 2 postdoctoral fellows, and over 200 master's students.

According to the "2013 Journal Paper Ranking of Humanities and Social Sciences Scholars in Universities (2006-2018)" published by the China Center for Scientific Bibliometric Evaluation and Research, a key research base for humanities and social sciences at Wuhan University, he ranks 28th in the field of law.
